_doing almost nothing
Public Installation. Extra-Barri Festival, Lleida (Spain). 2008. |Project in collaboration with Jordi Queralt|
In 2008, I was invited to do a project in the public space of Lleida, Spain. Instead of doing a visible work, we decided
to study the daily life in the area. We found a big public space recently built by the city council but with no people staying
in it. The main reason: the lack of any shadowy place to sit on and be protected from the sun.
Our proposal consisted in the cleaning of an old private small space close to the big one. We found an opportunity on the
existing wall: the same element that served to separate the public space from the private one could also be used as a big
natural umbrella.
We just cleaned the area and put a bench to sit on.
